Paul L. Gardner has been the Academic Director of Patent Resources Group since January 2000. Prior to joining Patent Resources, he was a partner in law firms in Los Angeles and Seattle. His practice included all phases of patent and trademark law, including prosecution and litigation, and serving as an expert witness in a number of patent and trade secret cases. While practicing in Los Angeles, he taught courses in patent and trademark law as an adjunct at the UCLA Law School and, while in Seattle, at the University of Washington and Seattle University law schools.

Mr. Gardner has been registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office since 1964, and was admitted to the bars of Washington State in 1966 and California in 1969. He received a J.D. with honors from George Washington University in 1965 and a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Missouri in 1962.
