William H. Pratt is a member of Finnegan, Henderson's Washington, D.C. office. He is principally focused on intellectual property licensing, government contracts, export controls, and the arbitration and litigation of intellectual property disputes. Mr. Pratt currently serves as Intellectual Property Counsel for the Automotive Multimedia Interface Collaboration — a standard-setting organization created by the eight major automobile manufacturers.  Mr. Pratt also advises corporations both in the United States and abroad on a wide range of licensing issues across a broad spectrum of technologies. Prior to joining Finnegan, Henderson, Mr. Pratt administered the export control program worldwide for Litton Industries.  Mr. Pratt has also served as Confidential Assistant to the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce during the Reagan Administration. In graduate school, Mr. Pratt was elected to Pi Alpha Alpha and received the 1982 United States Presidential Management Intern Award. Mr. Pratt has lectured extensively on the subjects of intellectual property licensing and export controls, including lectures for various corporations, the law schools at George Washington University and George Mason University, the business school at American University, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Aerospace Industry Association, and the Licensing Executives Society (U.S.A. and Canada).  Mr. Pratt also teaches a course on Drafting Patent License Agreements for Patent Resources Group. He has a B.S. from Southern Connecticut State University (1976), an M.P.A. from George Washington University (1982), and a J.D. from Washington College of Law, American University (1988).
